New couch has a chaise piece on one end and I cannot reach the coffee table from that spot, needed a place to set my drink and this is PERFECT! Holds onto the armrest well, nice and sturdy. I did paint the center with my own design for fun and seal the entire top with several coats of clear acrylic, so I’m not sure how the original product would stand up to water/cleaning, but with the acrylic on it I have no problems wiping it clean when needed. One of the problems with the AppleTV is the skinny/slick size of their remote. Keep losing it in the couch cushions!!! This table works perfectly and I haven't lost the remote since attaching this to the couch! Perfect tension as the arm is 8.5" wide. The Value is incredible and nothing more expensive or "prettier" will give you same value! IT WORKS!!Just flopped over on my couch. I had to return itThis tray looks nice, but it didn't fit on my armrest. I have a more rounded armrest on my couch, so the clamps didn't open far enough to fit. When I tried to shove it on it moved around a lot. I'm sure it would work nicely on a more squared armrest, like what is pictured. This is the perfect solution if you don’t have room for another side table! It’s cute, sturdy, and great price! My husband was thrilled with this purchase!I’ll probably purchase another one for the other side of the couchThe first one of these I ordered lasted for 2.5 years before the spring failed, which was probably my fault for letting it snap shut too often. We use them every evening in front of the TV, so I ordered two more, one of which replaces a different company's slightly cheaper plastic version that is now scratched and ugly after one year. As others have mentioned, you need to be careful when using this arm table for drinks and food. It holds best on a chair/couch arm that allows the spring loaded grip to press into the fabric and hold tightly. In my experience it has not marked or damaged any of the furniture I've used it on. And, as I've already indicated, to avoid damaging the spring you need to remove the table by holding the spring grips open and releasing them gently after it is off the arm. Cleans up nicely with Pledge type furniture polish. This is exactly what I need. I'm very happy with this table. The craftsmanship and finish are excellent. It fits my Lazy Boy recliner perfectly. It would actually fit other "arms" that are smaller or larger. I may purchase more for other chairs in my home. But don't let that keep you from getting one. Just be sure you measure the width of your chair or sofa arm. Mine fits great over the top of the arm of my recliner. But because the arm tucks under on the outside of the chair, this tray slides over from time to time and pops off. I do not use mine for beverages. I use mine as a mouse pad for my cordless mouse and to keep my ink pen and note pad and remote control. This tray is PERFECT for my mouse. I think the seller might want to consider marketing it for that purpose as well as a beverage tray. Just a thought. The idea of these are good but the end result is complete rubbish. Over priced and only fit for the bin. I ordered this as a quick fix. It was ordered early hours of the morning on the understanding theyd be delivered same day by 10 PM to prime members. As soon the order was confirmed it said that delivery would be the following day. Why say same day when Amazon has no intention of honouring it. Whats the point in paying for prime. With in 2 days of use 1 of the spring mounted legs came off to reveal the screw fixing only had fixed in to the table top by around 3 to 4 mm. This is nowhere near enough to get a good hold in what appears to be MDF. Theres no sign of any adhesive. Would not recommend, cheap material, cheaply made and sold for high price. The black wooden one I ordered is solid and the sprung legs tightly hold onto the arms of my chesterfield type sofa.Having very thick arms on the sofa probably helps, the tray can't move accidentally as it is solidly in place and makes it a great table like surface for phones, TV remotes, drinks, snacks etc.Having this extra table to hand means there's always somewhere to put down a glass beer or wine, remotes, books etc and even when lying on the sofa there is no concern that sudden movements will cause drinks to spill etc.I thought this was a little expensive, but feel it has presented good value in use.As well as being very solidly built it has genuinely improved my quality of life in one of those little ways, when you need a flat surface it's just there. If you need a side table and either don't have room for one, or have some already but could do with more flat surface space (at arms height) this is a great product. After having this for awhile I decided to update. It's a good little tray and is good for putting items nearer to hand. It's well made so if a bit pricy it's worth the money. The springs are very firm which is what is needed to hold it in place so watch your fingers if moving it.I love the sturdiness of the tray and the fact it has a lip all the way round. I like to stitch and used to rest my scissors on the arm of the chair. I had to frequently retrieve the scissors off the floor. I haven’t had to retrieve my scissors once since I bought this tray ??Good wood quality, but it only fits to maximum size of 20 cm (7.8inh) arm size not as described. I have a recliner chairthat i ordered this tray for but it didn't fit, so i used it for another armchair
